When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster

Chapter 1088: Memories Awaken

Chapter 1088: Memories Awaken

"Hello, Auntie!" Little June’s voice was adorably sweet and soft, and particularly pleasant to the ear.

"Such a good girl!" The old friend was delighted, her heart melting with sweetness, unable to resist cupping June’s cheeks, "Let’s go! Take Auntie to see Mommy! And your little brother and sister too!"

As they spoke, they all stepped forward, chatting and laughing, the atmosphere was very joyful.

Mr. Shaw stood there awkwardly, watching those figures from behind, his expression gloomy.

In the hospital lobby, people came and went, each carrying their own stories.

Mrs. Shaw, as a fiercely competitive woman, felt as if thousands of ants were gnawing at her heart!

In a moment of daze, the happy Fletcher Family had already walked away.

Mrs. Shaw snapped back to reality and started to blame Mr. Shaw, "What are you standing there for? Let’s go! Or do you want me to carry you?!"

Mr. Shaw suddenly looked at her, suppressing a surge of anger in his heart, but he restrained himself.

Recently, his legs were inconvenient, and he needed her care.

With the help of a crutch, Mr. Shaw limped forward, and Mrs. Shaw, carrying a bag of medicine, followed him.

They had long accepted the fact that Rachel Sherman remarried, but the thought that their granddaughter June did not even recognize her own grandparents made her inexplicably sad.

Their son had gone to prison, and who knows what year and month it would be when he came out. With no money, no power, no property, trying to marry another wife would probably be very difficult.

Even if they managed to bring home a less picky woman, she would probably not be young, and would certainly be unwilling to have more children... People today are more aware of their reality than anyone else.

Thus, the Shaw family lineage could truly come to an end.

One wonders if, at times like this, the couple feels any remorse for their past actions?

Back in the hospital room, Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Shaw both looked displeased, in a foul mood.

The injured Mr. Shaw sat on the bed, unable to hold back from criticizing, "You’ve always favored our son too much! That’s why we’re in this situation today!"

"What?!" Mrs. Shaw was infuriated upon hearing this, "You blame me now? You’re the head of the household! No matter what goes wrong, the biggest responsibility is yours! When the whole family was bullying Rachel Sherman, can you say you tried to stop it?!"

Mr. Shaw pampered his wife with no boundaries; rather than calling it pampering, it was more fear.

As long as Mrs. Shaw was willing, he never said a word more. He deeply regretted that a perfectly good family had been thrown into chaos!

In retrospect, Rachel Sherman really was a good woman. The fact that she was accepted by the wealthy Fletcher Family further proved her decent nature.

Unfortunately, there’s no remedy for regret in this world; one only learns to cherish after losing something.

Outside the hospital, on the way back to The Lockwood Villa, Faye Turner hailed a taxi and sat in the front seat, turning her eyes to the scenery outside the window.

Initially, she was thinking about Rachel Sherman having a baby and felt very happy, but when she saw the ferris wheel in the distance, it was as if a door to her memories had been opened.

She had been there with Adrian Lancaster before, and suddenly she recalled certain details.

He held her hand, his voice gentle, attentive to her safety, considering her feelings.

That day, he also took her to an amusement park, where they played like children for the entire day.

Sitting in the front seat, she turned her eyes to the window, lost in thought...

She unexpectedly thought of Adrian! All because of a ferris wheel.

Then, along the way, watching the scenery along the path, the part of her memory that concerned Adrian Lancaster gradually began to resurface.

By the time the taxi arrived at The Lockwood Villa, Faye Turner’s memories had mostly returned.
