Chapter 20 Tickets
Chapter 20 Tickets
Yesterday was the worst day Chloe had ever had.
First, her parents' unexpected visit exposed her lie, and then she was caught in the act of being intimate with Navilette.
Just recalling it made Chloe so embarrassed she was practically digging her toes into the ground.
Although Navelette didn't pursue the lie she had told in the end, accommodation arrangements were still unavoidable.
The two slept in the same room that night.
Navelette insisted on sleeping on the floor, and Chloe couldn't refuse him, so she had to agree.
Making the Supreme Judge sleep on the floor was a bit of a test of her mental fortitude. Chloe didn't sleep well and was a little listless the next day.
However, she didn't dare show it, for fear that Villette would overthink it.
As for whether Villette actually thought about it, nobody knows, but the guy himself thought about it a lot.

It was lunchtime, and Chloe sat on a bench behind the Momon Palace, looking sullen as she held the bento she had made that morning. Beside her was Aurelie, who had come to visit her after learning about her whereabouts from the Durands.
"Aurelia, do you think Lady Vilette likes me or not?"
Aurelius unceremoniously took two pieces of meat from her bowl, praising her cooking skills as well, and casually replied, "I'll say it again, have you ever seen Lord Vilette treat anyone else so differently? And he himself said that his heart races when he's with you."
However, when it came to this, Aurelia sounded exasperated: "If you ask me, you should have just confessed to him back then. What was wrong with your brain to say something like that?"
Chloe retorted, quite unconvinced: "Don't you think Lady Navelette is adorable like this?"
They'll hold hands whenever you ask, they're incredibly obedient.
"Yeah, but what else besides holding hands?" Aurelia rolled her eyes. "If you had just confessed back then, you might have won him over. Maybe we'd even be kissing by now."
It's safe to say that she's a top-tier solo artist; even when it comes to flirting, she's so conservative.
Upon hearing her words, Chloe blushed from head to toe, slammed the lunchbox into her arms, and was about to leave.
Aurelius quickly grabbed her: "Hey, hey, don't rush off! I haven't given you any advice yet!"
Chloe glanced at her and said angrily, "All you do is watch the show and laugh at me! Besides, aren't you a single woman too? What advice are you going to give me?"
Seeing that although she didn't give in on the surface, she still obediently sat back down, Aurelia chuckled inwardly and apologized to her with her hands clasped together: "No, please. Besides, you know I write operas! If I just treat your love story as a cheesy romance script, wouldn't I be able to write it?"
Chloe was quite unhappy with her "sour grapes" comment, but for the sake of her pitifully low progress in dating, she listened carefully to everything Chloe said next.
"This weekend, Lady Frinina, the Water Goddess, will be performing a brand new opera at the Opiclas Opera. I have reliable inside information that it's a rather sweet love story! Perhaps your Lady Navilette will finally see the light in that opera?"
"Really?" Chloe asked, half-believing.
"Of course it's true! What kind of relationship do we have? I would never lie to you!" Aurelia patted her chest and assured them.
Chloe finally decided to trust her: "In that case, you can buy our tickets!"
Since it was intended as a surprise, it wasn't convenient for her to buy the tickets herself.
"There's nothing I can do, what can I do when Lady Vilette has been inseparable from me lately?" She cupped her face in her hands, lost in reverie.
"Hey, hey, hey, you can't be this ungrateful and bully single people, can you?" Aurelia complained.
Just then, as the lunch break was about to end, Navelette emerged from the corridor of the Momen Palace and stood at a distance from her, politely saying, "I apologize for interrupting your conversation."
Aurelia instinctively stood up nervously, while Chloe walked towards him quite cheerfully.
Aurellie could see the man lower his head slightly, looking at her intently, as if he had said something interesting that made Chloe laugh out loud, and then she quite naturally took his hand.
"Tsk tsk tsk."
She gritted her teeth and ate the last piece of meat in her lunchbox.

On the second day at noon, Aurelie still brought two tickets without complaint.
However, she forgot one crucial point—
After all, this is an opera in which the water goddess Frynn will personally participate, so the security measures for this opera are naturally beyond question. The most prominent feature is the real-name system, where everyone who buys a ticket must leave their name and basic information for later verification, ensuring that no one who poses a threat to the water goddess will appear during the performance.
Because making false reports would get her blacklisted by the Opiclie Opera House and prevent her from ever setting foot inside again, Aurelia honestly wrote down Navigette and Chloe's names.
Actually, this wouldn't have been a big deal; almost no one would have noticed the verification methods used behind the scenes at the opera house. However, one of the people involved was Navigette.
The staff looked at each other, none of them daring to say they really wanted to investigate Lord Vilette. In the end, they had no choice but to submit the information to the Water Goddess and ask her to verify the authenticity of the name.
So, as Chloe went to meet Aurelia every noon to refine her plan, the water goddess Funina quietly came to her door.
Saying it was quiet isn't quite accurate, since someone's entourage is always quite grand. Apart from Chloe, who wasn't in the Mo Mang Palace, almost everyone noticed the girl swaggering into the Supreme Judge's office.
Even so, Funina couldn't help but restrain herself a bit when facing Vilette.
"I heard you're going to see my performance next Saturday? When did you start liking these lovey-dovey operas?"
Even the reason she accepted this script was simply because she had taken on too many serious scripts and occasionally wanted some lighthearted entertainment.
Navisette looked up from her desk, her expression blank: "What opera?"
"You didn't know?" Funina was now quite agitated. "A young girl came to buy tickets a couple of nights ago, using your name, and—"
She racked her brains, finally pulling another name from her memory: "Chloe! Yes, that's the name. Isn't she the other woman involved in that huge scandal a while back?"
Actually, it wasn't just a while ago.
The two have been getting so close lately that almost everyone can see it. However, after Villette cracked down on tabloids, no newspaper dared to speculate about their relationship anymore, and people only dared to talk about it in private.
However, even though the two of them were always so close, it didn't seem to have any effect, except that a few neighbors who lived very close to Chloe's house were almost always startled when they saw the Supreme Judge every time they went out.

My fever keeps coming back and I don't seem to be getting better, and I have an exam tomorrow, so the update tomorrow night will probably be around 9 pm. Don't come in too early, everyone!
